Jeopardy

Obama Q&A for $200 Alex.

Alex: The answer is:

"Well the truth of the matter is, you know, as President of the United States I have a lot of responsibilities,"

Abraham: What did Obama answer when he was asked, does the President of the United States have a lot of responsibilities?

Alex: Sorry, no.

Martin: What did Obama answer when he was asked, what's the funniest thing President Bush told you?

Alex: Sorry, that is incorrect.

John: What did Obama answer when he was asked, does Michelle load you up on the weekends with honey-dos?

Alex: Sorry, not even close.  The correct answer is, what did Obama say on June 11, 2012 in response to, there are a lot of Democrats that are upset you didn't campaign for Tom Barrett.

Unfortunately, it is non-responsive answers like the one our President gave above that has put our constitutional republic in serious jeopardy.

Let's give the President credit for correctly stating the volume of responsibilities of the President of the United States.  They are conveniently enumerated in Article 2 of our Constitution.  The President is the Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy and the Militia, he may require the opinion of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, he shall have Power to grant reprieves and pardons, he has the power to make treaties, he shall appoint Ambassadors, Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the Supreme Court and certain other officers of the United States, he shall have the power to fill vacancies while the Senate is in recess, he shall from time to time provide a State of the Union, he shall recommend to Congress for their consideration measures that he judges to be necessary, he may convene both houses of Congress, he may adjourn Congress if there is a dispute over adjournment, he shall receive ambassadors, and finally, he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States.

The President certainly has a lot of responsibilities.  So has every one of the 43 President's that came before him.  So will the 43 that come after him.

Implied in the President's answer is the time required to fulfill his responsibilities left no time available to go to Wisconsin and campaign for Mayor Barrett.  This part of the President's answer, like so many other answers given by the President and his surrogates, is so blatantly  untrue that I wonder how they speak these words while maintaining a straight face.  Don't ever play poker with Obama or members of his inner circle.

The signatures on the petitions to recall Governor Walker were certified on March 30, 2012 and the election took place June 5, 2012, leaving 66 days available for campaigning.  According to the President's daily schedule, during those 1,584 hours he attended several meetings and signed legislation that appears to be in keeping with his constitutional responsibilities.  His schedule also shows that during the  95,040 minutes he attended 29 campaign (code word for fundraiser) events.  He also hosted an Easter Egg roll, traveled to the country of Columbia (where some his secret service agents got secretly serviced) and joked he was there scouting out vacation spots, honored NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, hosted the NCAA football champs, was interviewed by Jimmy Fallon, hosted the NCAA basketball champs, completed the evolution of his thoughts on gay marriage (with help from his daughters), hosted at the White House a concert honoring songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David (apparently my invitation got lost in the mail), was a guest on The View, welcomed the Major League Soccer champions to the White House, gave the commencement address at Joplin High School in Missouri  (haven't these people suffered enough?), delivered the commencement address at the US Air Force Academy, and presented the Medal of Freedom to the Honorary Chair of Democratic Socialists of America.

Most of the weekend days during the 5,702,400 seconds showed no public schedule for the President.  We do know Obama played golf six times on the weekends on the dates of April 1, 7, 21, 29, May 12 and 26.  Perhaps the President was not aware there are golf courses in Wisconsin.  505 golf courses to be exact.  With a little planning Obama could have flown to Wisconsin, campaigned early in the day at a diner for breakfast, played 18 holes with some union bosses, and then back on the campaign trail for dinner with some wealthy liberals.

The President's claim that his presidential responsibilities left him with no campaign time for Wisconsin is laughable.  (If only he had an airplane at his disposal to fly him wherever and whenever he wanted to fly.)  The speculation that Obama stayed out of Wisconsin to avoid being associated with another election loss may be true but even if Walker was too strong of a candidate to defeat and Barrett too weak of a candidate to win, it was an opportunity for the President to be seen and heard by members of his base that he will need in November.  As with Coakley in Massachusetts, Corzine in New Jersey, and Giannoulias in Illinois, if the Obama backed person loses the blame gets attributed to the weakness of the candidate.

Obama entered his presidency with the belief he could bully Congress and the States to sign off on his agenda.  After the 2010 mid-term election he found out this was no longer possible.  Gridlock does not begin to describe the current stalemate in Congress.  It is more like an asteroid has hit the Earth and the grid has been vaporized.  Nothing is getting done in Congress between now and election day.

The States are even more out of Obama's control.  Twenty-seven States have sued the Federal government over Obamacare.  The Federal government sued Arizona over its new immigration law.  Florida and the Federal government are suing each other over the process of validating its voter rolls.  The State issues are filled with real world nitty gritty details that get in the way of Obama's grand utopian views.  Getting into the trenches of the local politics of Fond du Lac, Green Bay, Milwaukee and Racine would not have resulted in capturing the hearts and minds of the Badger state.

Obama has learned there is no need for hand to hand combat along the streets of Madison when you have the ability to fly drones all over America.  The only way for the President to move Forward with the Hope and Change agenda is to bypass Congress and the Courts.  He ignored the court when it ruled he had to lift the moratorium on drilling in the Gulf.  He unilaterally decided to stop enforcing the Defense of Marriage Act.  He made recess appointments when the Senate was not in recess.  He signed a treaty without the approval of Congress arguing that what he signed was not a treaty but rather, an executive agreement (whatever that is.)  These have been big, sweeping, unprecedented, unconstitutional executive branch actions or inactions.  Other than some huffing and puffing by Republicans, the President has gotten away with his failure to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.  The checks and balances the Framers counted on to keep our government limited, are safely stored in the same lock box with all of our social security savings.  Somewhere the anti-Federalists are screaming a collective, "I told you so."

On Friday, June 15, 2012 the President bypassed Congress again with the announcement of a new deportation policy.  This appears to be a clear usurpation of an enumerated power of Congress stated in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution, "to establish a uniform rule of naturalization."  If Congress does not do everything within in its Constitutional power to check the executive branch then we may as well cut spending by shutting this Congress down.

Alex: It is time for Final Jeopardy.  The category is Authoritarian Rulers. Contestants, round your wagers to the nearest trillion.

Alex: And the answer is, Barack Obama, 2009 to 2035. (Cue the music.)

Another Obama Apology

Obama was in Miami yesterday (2/23/12) the same day as the Knicks and their phenom Jeremy Lin were in town to play the Miami Heat. This from the Sun-Sentinel:

Despite spending much of the day in the area, including an address at the University of Miami, President Obama was not among the high-end crowd.

"In another life, I would be staying for the Knicks-Heat game tonight, then going up to Orlando for NBA All-Star weekend," he said at the University of Miami. "But these days, I've got a few other things on my plate. Just a few."

What was on Obama's plate? Fundraising. $4.1 million dollars.

Is it election day yet?

Turning Point

If the primary process starts to tilt more towards Senator Santorum and further away from Governor Romney and Speaker Gingrich, then Friday, January 26, 2012 during the debate in Jacksonville, will be remembered as the day the shift began.  On that day Santorum fully exposed the position held by Romney on the single most important issue of this election, Obamacare.  The discussion began with Romney saying:

“The system that we put in place in our state was something we worked out with the labor community, the health care community, business, and the citizens of the nation. We came together, it was voted by a 200-person legislature. Only two voted no.

Our system has a lot of flaws, a lot of things I'd do differently. It has a lot of benefits. The people of the state like it by about three to one.

We consider it very different than Obamacare. If I were president, day one I will take action to repeal Obamacare. It's bad medicine. It's bad economy. I'll repeal it.

And I believe the people -- I believe the people of each state should be able to craft programs that they feel are best for their people. I think ours is working pretty well. If I were governor, it would work a heck of a lot better. “

Santorum fired back:

What Governor Romney just said is that government-run top-down medicine is working pretty well in Massachusetts and he supports it. Now, think about what that means going up against Barack Obama, who you are going to claim, well, top-down government-run medicine on the federal level doesn't work and we should repeal it. And he's going to say, wait a minute, Governor. You just said that top-down government-run medicine in Massachusetts works well.  Folks, we can't give this issue away in this election. It is about fundamental freedom.

Santorum cut the tightrope line that Romney was walking across as he tried to defend Romneycare while bashing Obamacare.  Romney’s position is indefensible and Obama, with and without his teleprompter, will cripple Romney should Romney be the nominee.  It will sound like this:

OBAMA:  During my vacation time in Martha Vineyards, in between rounds of golf, I got to meet with a lot of folks from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Everyone that I talked to told me how great the Massachusetts Health Care Reform Act is working.  I have heard the Governor say repeatedly how pleased he is with the system of healthcare in Massachusetts.  When we were putting together a plan to reform the healthcare system for the United States we took note of how well the plan was working in Massachusetts.  We were so impressed we brought to Washington two of the main architects of Massachusetts Health Care Reform, John Gruber & John McDonough, to help us put together the Affordable Care Act.  In fact these two patriots are here tonight.  A quick shout to my two John boys, come on guys, standup.

Once the act passed we hired another 25 to 30 professionals that helped implement the Massachusetts plan to help HHS implement the Affordable Care Act.  I’d like to take a moment to thank the Governor for providing the blueprint for my plan and the experienced executive talent to bring Massachusetts health care to all 57 states.

ROMNEY: Look, it’s like I told Senator Santorum in January, “in debating Barack Obama, I will be able to show that I have passion and concern for the people in this country that need health care.  But I will be able to point out that what he did was wrong. It was bad medicine, it's bad for the economy, and I will repeal it.”

A healthcare debate between Obama and Romney will be like watching a car race accident at a NASCAR event.  It will be brutally ugly but you won’t be able to take your eyes off of it.  I am already cringing.  But last night, Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri gave us some hope that come September, Romney will be off the campaign trail and Santorum or Newt will be on TV challenging Obama and the looming disaster of Obamacare.

Send Obama a Bill

In President Obama’s State of the Union address of January 24, 2012 he repeatedly asked Congress to send him a “bill”:

“Send me a bill” that bans insider trading by members of Congress; I will sign it tomorrow.

“Tear down regulations that prevent aspiring entrepreneurs from getting the financing to grow.  Expand tax relief to small businesses that are raising wages and creating good jobs. Both parties agree on these ideas. So put them in a bill, and get it on my desk this year.”

“Help manufacturers eliminate energy waste in their factories and give businesses incentives to upgrade their buildings. Their energy bills will be $100 billion lower over the next decade, and America will have less pollution, more manufacturing, more jobs for construction workers who need them. Send me a bill that creates these jobs.”

Two other times in the speech he asked for a “bill”, without using the word “bill”:

“It is time to stop rewarding businesses that ship jobs overseas, and start rewarding companies that create jobs right here in America. Send me these tax reforms, and I will sign them right away.”

“But if election-year politics keeps Congress from acting on a comprehensive plan, let’s at least agree to stop expelling responsible young people who want to staff our labs, start new businesses, defend this country. Send me a law that gives them the chance to earn their citizenship. I will sign it right away.”

Congress, before sending Obama bills that he wants, WE THE PEOPLE want to send the President a bill for the following:

  1. Cost of vacations, including travel, in excess of the average vacation travel of the last three Presidents.
  2.  Additional costs resulting from the President and First Lady taking separate planes to the same location.
  3. All costs associated with 90+ rounds of golf.
  4. Cost of trip to NYC for anniversary.
  5. Cost of the increase in health insurance of all Americans in 2012.
  6. Cost of the two black buses purchased for the President’s bus tour.
  7. Cost of the entire black bus campaign tour.
  8. Cost of all trips that included a campaign stop and/or fundraiser.
  9. Cost of trip to Copenhagen to attempt to bring Winter Olympics to Chicago.
  10. Cost of all “Hollywood” parties at the White House.
  11. Cost of flying in a personal trainer week after week.
  12. Cost of all Czars.
  13. Cost of 18 of Michelle’s 22 personal assistants.
  14. Increase in the deficit during the time the government has operated without a budget.

Mr. President, please include with your payment a copy of your original birth certificate, your college transcripts and an explanation for your Connecticut social security number.  Payment is due in 30 days.

Generic Republican's State of the Union

Mr. Speaker, Mr. President, distinguished Members of the Congress, honored guests, and fellow citizens:

I ask all members present to hold their applause to the end.

The state of the union is not good. The economy is barely growing, unemployment is still too high, government spending is out of control, our national debt is larger than our economy, our credit rating remains downgraded, the price of gas is rising, domestic energy production is shrinking, our Attorney General is a joke, the Fast and Furious gun smuggling program resulted in the death of an American, Iran is close to producing a nuclear weapon, class warfare rhetoric is dividing the nation, our President has time for 90 rounds of golf, our Executive Branch is loaded with out of the closet Marxists, illegal immigration is being promoted, Obamacare if not repealed will ruin the healthcare system, crony capitalism has reached outrageous levels, we have been without a budget for 1,000+ days, entitlements have not been reformed, home prices are depressed, the Middle East is in political disarray and the list goes on and on.  Not since the War Between the States has our nation been so divided.

We are living in a post-Constitutional America.  No attempt is being made by the Democrat party to follow the Constitution.  The Republican controlled House refuses to de-fund the government.  DC is doing whatever it wants to do, un-fettered by the limits of the Constitution. Our liberty is being eroded each and every day.

(Fortunately our news media is doing everything it can to hold the President and Congress accountable for their actions.  Excuse me?  Louder I can’t hear you?  The media is what?  It’s not helping to hold the President and Congress accountable?  Well that stinks.)

Until we elect Constitutional Conservatives at every level of government the state of the union will not improve. We need a President, Senate and House of Representatives that will take their pledge to defend and protect the Constitution and then actually protect and defend the Constitution.

(How great would that be!  Or is that asking too much?)

The Constitution is for everyone.  It protects the unalienable rights of all people regardless of their background.  It promises that our Federal Government will have limited, enumerated powers and that all other powers remain with the States or the people.

(Why is this so hard for Democrats, Liberals and Marxists to understand?)

This upcoming election will determine whether we can restore America to a Constitutional Republic.  If the current President is giving a state of the union address next year then we will have lost.  If Harry Reid is still the Senate majority leader next year then we will have lost.  If John Boehner is still Speaker of the House next year then we will have lost.

(And once we lose we will never win again. We will be like the Chicago Cubs.)

We began the revolution in 2010.  The early victories will be meaningless if we don’t add more Constitutional Conservatives in 2012.  We need to support these people during the primaries and in the general election later this year.  On Election Day, when given the choice between any Democrat and a Generic Republican, you must vote for the more conservative of the two.  That will always be the Generic Republican.

Save Money, Vote Generic!  We can’t afford anymore name brand Liberals or RINOs.

Thank you, God bless you and God bless the United States of America.

If you are with me, feel free to applaud now.  If you are against me, please read Mark Levin’s Ameritopia.

No Rest

With Obama on vacation I thought it would be a good time to recall his promises not to rest. (Also can be found at marklevinshow.com):

  • April 9, 2009 "And we will not rest until we reach a day when not one single veteran falls into homelessness"

  • May 11, 2009 "I will not rest until the dream of health care reform is finally achieved in the United States of America"

  • November 2, 2009 "We will not rest until we are succeeding in generating the jobs that this economy needs"

  • November 23, 2009 "I will not rest until business are investing again, and businesses are hiring again"

  • January 28, 2010 "We will not rest until we build an economy that's ready for America's future"

  • March 5 2010 "I’m not gonna rest & my administration is not gonna rest in our efforts to help people who are looking to find a job"

  • May 26, 2010 "We will not rest until this well is shut, the environment is repaired and the clean up is complete"

  • July 8, 2010 "My administration will not rest until every American who is able and ready and willing to work can find a job"

Ironically, Obama is the most rested President in my lifetime.  By the grace of God Americans will hopefully soon give him the opportunity for an extended vacation.  While Obama's supporters are resting in various occupied parks, Constitutional Conservatives are working around the clock to vote him out of office on November 6, 2012.

Ron Paul, I Have A Better Idea

Ron Paul, listen to me and listen good.  I have heard you talking about not talking about not running as a third party candidate.  As a result the papers, TV news shows, Facebook and Twitter are talking about your not talking, non-stop.  Let’s say for a moment that you are serious about a third party run (which I don’t believe, by the way.) Would you be doing it to defeat the eventual Republican nominee or to actually become POTUS?

Let’s assume you want to be POTUS.   You have given the conventional way to win the convention more than enough opportunity to work but Stevie Wonder can see that you have been getting shafted in the debates and in the media. There are just too many candidates right now. The media is focused on the perceived leaders.  You have a reputation as living a bit too off on the fringe to be considered a serious potential nominee. Hence, they spend time elsewhere.

Before you have the ultimate hissy fit and go third party I want you to consider this.  Isn’t there a pretty big party already in place where only one bad boy is running?  Isn’t that party more lost than your current party (which I concede has lost its way too.)

Yes Ron Paul, you should switch parties and run for the Democratic Party nomination for President of the United States.  Think of the media attention.  You would be huge.  You would be like Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float huge. You would be the Underdog float!

Now think about the debates.  Just you and him, one on one, week after week, month after month, getting equal time to answer questions and put forth your vision for America.  You would clean his clock.  You would bloody his nose.  You would knock out a few teeth.  You would crack his teleprompter.

Could you beat Obama?  Of course you could.  He’s a Marxist.  The democrats don’t want a Marxist, they want a liberal.  You are a Lib.  (OK, you are a Libertarian but we may need to abbreviate to win.)

We keep hearing that the current Democratic Party is “not your father’s democratic party.”  Capitalizing on the sexist aspect of this expression, your campaign slogan could be “Ron Paul, the Democrat Your Mom and Dad HOPE You Will Vote For!” Bumper stickers, T-shirts, hats, newspaper ads, TV ads, radio ads, all with this message.  For TV and radio we will get a Kennedy sound alike to deliver the message, someone from Romney’s home state.  It will sound like John Kennedy is asking democrats to vote for you.

Once you win the Democrat nomination, then it will be time for the ultimate revenge.  You will get to go head to head with the Republican Party nominee, who may possibly be a RINO.  Mano-y-mano there is no Republican currently running that you can’t hold your own with.  As the Democratic candidate you will have the support of the main stream media.  You should cruise to a victory on November 6, 2012.

You are famous for thinking thoughts that others cannot imagine.  What I am proposing is not simply your only path to victory; it is the path that the stars have aligned to illuminate.  Do it Ron.  Do it for America. Do it for Rand. Just do it Ron!
